Cancellation conditions:
In case of a cancellation, the conditions below apply. We therefore advise you to take out a good cancellation insurance, which in many cases will save you costs.
Cancellations are always made in writing via e-mail. You will then receive a confirmation from us within 24 hours. We note that a cancellation is only valid after our written confirmation!
Our cancellation policy:
- Refund up to 30 days before arrival:
50% of the total stay - Refund from 29 days to 15 days before arrival:
25 % of the total stay - Refund from 14 days to 0 days or no-show (failure to show up to a reservation) before arrival: no refund
If you check out early, we cannot refund the cost of the unused remaining time of your reservation, or be held liable for any additional costs you incur as a result. Depending on the circumstances, you can refer to your travel insurance to make any claim directly to them.
Force majeure
In exceptional circumstances, due to force majeure, we may be forced to cancel your reservation. We will then refund the charges already paid to you or, if you have not yet paid for the reservation, you do not have to take any further action.
Force majeure is defined herein as any event which we could not, even with all due care, foresee or avoid as a result of which we are unable to offer you a room. Such events include but are not limited to war, threat of war, civil unrest, terrorist activities and the consequences of the threat of such activities, riot, act of any government or other national or local authority including port authorities, labour dispute, lockout, natural or nuclear disasters, fire, chemical or biological disasters and adverse weather, sea, ice and river conditions and such events beyond our control.
Take out proper travel insurance for all members of your travel party!
Payment terms:
If you arrive more than 30 days after booking, we will be happy to reserve your room bindingly upon receipt of a deposit of 50 per cent of the total stay amount.
The remaining amount must be credited to our account no later than 30 days before arrival. If this deadline is exceeded, the reservation will automatically expire. In this case, you will not receive a refund of the booking deposit.
If you arrive within 30 days of booking, the entire stay amount is due for a binding booking.
House rules:
Feel at home at Casa do Mundo!
A valid ID/identity card must be shown at check-in.
Check-in is possible between 15:00 and 22:00 (other times only by agreement).
Check out before 11.00 (in case of a very early return flight, we will discuss the possibilities regarding breakfast).
Due to our Adults-Only policy, you can book a room with us from the age of 16.
Should you discover any defects in/to your booked room upon arrival, please report this immediately so that we can solve the problems as quickly as possible. Also, if an accident occurs during your stay, we ask that you report it as soon as possible so that we can rectify the inconvenience. We only have non-smoking rooms.
Parking spaces are available behind the Casa's entrance gate. When full, parking is available outside the gate next to the wall of the Casa on the public road (free of charge).
Full breakfast is of course included in the room rate (unless otherwise stated in the rate description), also VAT, but excluding tourist tax (payable locally).
Small snacks and drinks from our Honesty Bar are not included and will be charged at the end of the stay. Drinks and snacks ("Honesty Bar") more than write down on the form available for this purpose.
We do a room round on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Then the towels are changed and the bins emptied.
We ask you to have breakfast outside in our cosy sitting area or on the terrace, we do this to protect our bedding.
It is quiet in the rooms and hallway after 10pm.
Socialising is always allowed in the general area or in our garden bar.
Please remain calm in case of fire. Report a fire immediately to the owners. There is a fire extinguisher on the ground floor by the outside door and on the first floor on the landing to the guest rooms. Leave the building immediately.
Cameras hang in various places in and around the building. In case of emergencies and/or incidents, these recordings can be shown to third parties as supporting material.
If personal belongings are found in the room after checking out, the owners, being Mike or Erika, will always contact you. The cost and risk of shipping these items will be borne by the guest.
Casa do Mundo is not responsible for loss or theft of your belongings. Please store valuables in the safe provided for this purpose.
Casa do Mundo and/or persons working here cannot be held responsible for any injury and/or (material) damage visitors may suffer during their stay.
Damage and/or loss
When you book, you accept responsibility for damage and/or loss caused by you or a member of your party. Full payment for damage and/or loss must be paid directly to us at that time. If you fail to do so, you will be responsible for resolving any claims subsequently made against us (as well as your own full legal costs and those of the other party) as a result of your actions.
Damage to movable and/or immovable property of b&b Casa do Mundo or other items placed at your disposal will be calculated on site with a separate invoice - this invoice can then be used for travel insurance purposes.
Disturbance/ misconduct
Casa do Mundo has the right to terminate your stay or that of any other member of your party due to misconduct or if there is a nuisance. No refund will be given. Furthermore, we are not obliged to pay compensation or reimburse any costs or expenses you may incur as a result of the termination of your stay.
You are not allowed to:
Smoking in the room and in the rest of the building.
Taking property from the B&B, such as soap dispensers and towels. Intentionally damaging property and/or disposing of property of the B&B can make you liable for the repair and/or renewal costs.
Consuming, using, trading or possessing narcotics.
Using nitrous oxide balloons in the room.
Causing a nuisance to another person, including through loud music, obnoxious behaviour or any kind of noise.
Bringing more people in the room, than the allowed number.
Change conditions:
Casa do Mundo may amend and/or supplement the terms and conditions at any time and will automatically apply with immediate effect after amendment.
